Description:

Dhamma Bodhi, meaning ‘Enlightenment of Dhamma’, is located in Bodhgaya in South Bihar. The simple 18-acre centre with its fruit trees and well-kept vegetable gardens can accommodate about 80 students in single and double room cottages with attached bathrooms. Surrounded by long stretches of fertile agricultural fields, Dhamma Bodhi’s rural calm is an ideal setting for serious meditation. The centre has a Dhamma Hall that accommodates 80 students, and a pagoda with 70 cells.

Dhamma Cakka, meaning ‘Wheel of Dhamma’, is located 3.5 km from where the Buddha gave his first discourse Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta (Turning of the Wheel of the Dhamma) at the Deer Park. The exact spot marked by The Dhammeka stupa in the Deer Park, the Moolgandh Kuti Vihar with the paintings depicting the Buddha’s life and numerous monasteries established by various countries enhance the sacred atmosphere of the region. With its first course in September 2004, Dhamma Cakka offers two ten-day courses a month and also Satipatthana courses.

Description:

Dhamma Canda Pabhā means "The Glowing Moon of Dhamma". It is the 9th center in Thailand. The first 10- day course was offered in April 2013. The center was built on 3.6 acres of land in amphur "Pong Nam-Ron", Chantaburi province. It is situated approximately 220 meters above sea level. The center is surrounded by small hills and mountains. Chantaburi province is in the eastern region of Thailand; the province is renowned for various tropical fruit plantations. The famous "Soi-Dao" mountain is to the north-west of the center and the "Kitcha-Kood" mountain is to the south-west of the center. There is a medium to strong breeze passing through the center all year round.

Since 2002, Mid-Atlantic Vipassana Association has been organizing Vipassana Meditation courses in Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, and various other locations in the Mid-Atlantic States. The first 10-Day Vipassana course was held in Virginia in 2002 at Camp Virginia Jaycee near Blue Ridge, Virginia. In 2005 a 10-Day Vipassana course was organized at Camp Fairlee Manor in Chestertown, Maryland, near Washington DC.
Dhamma Delaware was purchased in October, 2013 and the first 10-Day course was offered in November, 2014.

Dhamma Dhaja', meaning ‘Flag of Dhamma’, is located at Village Anandgarh, 12 kms from Hoshiarpur District. The centre lies in the foothills of Shivalik Mountains range. Direct trains to Jalandhar, Punjab are available from all corners of the country. Two direct coaches from Delhi are available through Jammu Mail for Hoshiarpur. Buses or auto-rickshaws are available from Hoshiarpur to the centre. Dhamma Dhaja is relatively close to Dhamma Sikhara, Dharamshala, and caters to the overflow of Dhamma Sikhara.

Dhamma Dhānī means City of Dhamma. It is the fourth Thailand Vipassana center to offer courses in Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin. The first ten-day course has commenced in March 2005. The center is situated on an area of 0.7 acres in the K. C. Gardenhome Village on Nimitmai Road, Klong-sam-wa district, Bangkok. The center is separated from the main village. It has a two-storey building sitting in the middle of the land, and a big pond in the back. The surrounding trees within the center and agriculture fields in the village add peace and tranquility to the center.

The Shelburne center, founded in 1982, was the first center in North America. The original facility was merely a roomy, comfortable two-story house and barn on eight acres of meadowland. In 1989, a group of meditators donated an adjoining seventy acres of land. Today the center consists of 108 acres and many new buildings have been added, including a bathhouse, two dining rooms, meditation hall for 200, a 140 cell pagoda, separate residences for men and women and a center manager's house.

Dhamma Divākara, meaning 'Sun of Dhamma' is 75 km from the city of Ahmedabad and 14 km from Mehsana in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The Sun Temple, the biggest landmark in the region, is 15 km away. The Dhamma Hall and segregated dining halls can seat a total of 250 students.

Dhamma Dullabha is located about 100 km in the east from Moscow. The Centre is well-connected by railway and highway. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by pine forests and can accommodate 100 students in total. Dhamma Dullabha offers about 20 ten-day courses, one twenty days course, one Satipatthana course and a few 3-day courses annually. Courses are also held in other locations in the Russia: near Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. Anapana courses for children have been held in Moscow since 2011.

From the Vipassana centre "Dhamma Dvāra" situated on a hilltop in the Saxonian city of Triebel, close to the northern Bavarian city of Hof and the Saxonian city of Plauen, 500 m above sea level, one can look out over the forests and meadows of the landscape called "Vogtland“. The peaceful location is ideally suited for serious meditation.

The centre was acquired in December 2000 and inaugurated in December 2002 after extensive reconstruction. Due to the strong demand the centre has seen significant expansion since 2012. The centre’s maximum capacity is planned to provide space for 150 meditators and servers. There are courses throughout the year, usually two 10-day courses a month.

The Vipassana association, an educational charity/non profit organisation runs all courses. It consists of Vipassana meditators, associated to ensure by honorary work that courses are offered regularly and to inform the public about Vipassana.

Dhamma Gaṅgā, meaning ‘Ganges of Dhamma’, is located on the bank of the river Ganges, and is about 25 kms north from the Centre of Kolkata (Calcutta). The Centre was acquired in 1988, and began functioning the next year in a 200-year old historical three storied building surrounded with flower and fruit trees. The Centre is easily approachable from Kolkata by train, bus, and taxi and from Howrah by bus and taxi. Trains are available from Sealdah station upto Sodepur station and buses upto Panihati Municipality. From there, one can walk to the Centre or take a rickshaw. From airport hire a pre paid taxi for Baro Mandir Ghat Sodepur.
